SUMMIT AVIATION, INC.POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONPOSITION TITLE: Logistician DATE: November 2024FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt DEPT: GALOC: DelawarePOSITION SUMMARY: The Logistician reports to the Senior Logistics Manager and is responsible for the receipt, storage, distribution, and shipment ofproperty; operates in compliance with company safety practices and performs other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Receive, inspect, package, store and distribute property throughout its life cycle at Summit Aviation.Maintain and organize inventory storage areas.Process incoming and outgoing assigned program shipments.Utilize Corridor inventory module to manage inventory.Build and issue inventory kits to the floor as instructed.Forklift duties include loading/offloading trucks, transporting GSE, parts, and supporting program needs.Collaborate with other employees and team leads on assigned program daily support needs.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years of prior shipping, receiving, inventory and warehouse experience is required. Previous Forklift Operating experience is preferred. Purchasing experience is preferred, but not required.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should be proficient in MS Office applications. Experience in using inventory management software is preferred (Corridor), but not required.Vehicle Experience: To safely operate or learn how to safely operate a Forklift.Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively and contribute to a team environment and self-direct work.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; walk, talk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions such as extreme cold and heat, wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts and work in high, precarious places. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and work with explosives.
