LOGISTICS ANALYST I
POSITION OBJECTIVE
* Maintain railcar fleet database and assist railcar lease negotiation.
* Review and process Freight invoices, railcar rental invoices, and railcar demurrage charges on time to ensure Formosa maintain good credit
* Assist in maintaining railcar fleet files and ensure data accuracy across all systems.
* Assist in preparing railcar property tax filings for each state and process payments on time.
* Provide support to all aspects of the department as needed.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
* Maintain railcar fleet database, update railcar service type, and ensure fleet data are aligned across all systems (ERP, Shipmentvision, and Umler.)
* Prepare railcar lease analysis and assist in railcar lease contract negotiation.
* Assist Railcar property tax filing preparation. Need to be familiar with each state filing forms and stay informed of tax policy updates. Keep track of filing status and ensure every state's railcar property taxes are filed and paid in a timely manner.
* Follow up with the plant railcar shop on the railcar maintenance schedule and divert empty cars in transit to Outside shops. Monitor the car counts sent to outside shops to comply with the Transrail budget on monthly basis.
* Review assigned abnormal freight invoices, rental invoices, demurrage charges, and storage/ switching charges and ensure payments are made within the credit term.
* Assist business unit and plant shipping regarding rail shipments. Troubleshoot waybill issues, trace rail shipments with abnormal movement, submit service tickets, follow up on B/O cars, and repair plans to minimize the impact of shipment delays.
* Any other projects and works assigned by Logistics Managers and Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Preferable with Transportation/Logistics/accounting related experience, which includes rail/truck operations, freight rate analysis experience, rail fleet administrative experience and knowledge of railcar billing/diversion/reshipment process.
* Ability to sort data, analyze and manage analyses of numerous spreadsheets and scenarios. Able to multitask and keep trace of open items and follow through.
* Bachelor Degree. Preferred major in Business, Accounting, or Supply Chain.
* Good analytical, verbal and written skills. Must have working knowledge of MS office, must be proficient in Excel.
* Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required.
