Description - External Cognizant is a large IT consulting firm that demonstrates modern technologies to transform businesses. We are seeking a Logistics Analyst to join our growing team. Although the posting is listed in San Francisco, this role is fully onsite in Palo Alto, CA.
About The Role You will work on a team with other logistics analysts to move material in support of program teams. This is a fast paced, innovative, collaborative environment and this Logistics role is in the critical path for most of what we do.
Who We Are Looking For The logistics analysts we are looking for are self motivated and can lead their workloads independently. They will be comfortable working in an office connected to a hardware lab. The right candidate will be process driven, system level thinker, curious about learning new things and have the ability to push themselves beyond expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities - Handle shipment requests for domestic and international orders and provide status updates to relevant collaborators through delivery
- Work with the trade compliance team and 3PLs to ensure all international shipments align with export/import regulations
- Facilitate the packaging and labeling of dangerous goods for air shipment
- Assist with equipment forecasting, local inventory management, and distribution
- Helpdesk support via ticketing system (similar to Zendesk)
- Work with Field Technicians to meet repair deadlines with vital approvals, equipment availability and shipping
Required Qualifications: - A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required, a bachelor is helpful
- Knowledge of international shipping procedures and documents, including the role and purpose of commercial invoices
- Prior professional experience in logistics
- Experienced knowledge of: Forward, Reverse, and Third Party Logistics (3PL) workflows, Commercial invoice forms, SLI's, packing list, shipper's export declarations
- Working knowledge of: Fedex Ship Manager, DHL Import/Export Portals, Tariff classifications, import duties and tax assessments
- Familiarity with Manufacturing and assembly documentation (BOM, drawings), PLM software and Temporary Importations
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Desire to work in a fast paced environment
Salary and Other Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is between $31.25 - $38.46 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
