The incumbent further has the responsibility of interfacing with all members of the Department in the collection and handling of evidence and the owner when it is no longer needed by the criminal justice process. This position may be responsible for the purchasing, maintaining and distribution of supplies and equipment for the police department in accordance with appropriate laws, ordinances, and budget constraints, and for the daily management of fleet maintenance and readiness. This includes all IT equipment and software.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMust meet all essential duties and responsibilities of the Logistical/Evidence Technician, but with the following additional duties and responsibilities.Assists City IT Department in maintaining and troubleshooting computers and all peripherals.Installs software and acts as administrator for software.Creates users, sets, and resets passwords as required and troubleshoots all software as required.Troubleshoots Police equipment in cars (cameras, radios, sirens, lights).Troubleshoots Radio Systems/911 and all other Dispatch issues.Assists users in proper use of software and hardware.Manages video systems in buildings.Downloads audio and video for FOIA requests, attorneys, and officer requests.Manages Body cams and in-car camera systems.Removes Police equipment from vehicles to prepare for sale.Performs hardware servicing; Provides system software for Dept. Computers.Perform all other duties as assigned/required.Additional SkillsSix months experience in data entry operations; ORAbility to maintain accurate records, type and enter data accurately.Ability to effectively communicate on a one-on-one basis with others.Ability to maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees, department officials and the public.Ability to report to work each scheduled day, and on time.QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area, e.g., data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A computer Service technician certificate is preferred, but not required.Special RequirementsAll positions with the City of Sherwood are subject to a pre-employment background check.
