Job description
Logistics Associate (LA) will be responsible for daily communications of forward and reverse logistics activities for assigned customers and associated business units. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and customer 3rd Party Logistics companies (3PLs), responsible for answering any questions as related to shipments or inventory and provide daily tracking reports to customers and internal teams. LA will coordinate shipments with factories, freight forwarders, and North American domestic carriers to ensure shipping regulation compliance and on-time delivery to ports and warehouses. Review all shipping documents to ensure international trade compliance. In addition, the LA will manage domestic inventories ensuring required stock levels for sales distribution, spare parts and replacement stock.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with operations team that prepares invoices, packing slips, declarations, certificates, container diagrams, shipping notifications and shipping documents to ensure all shipping documentation requirements are met.
- Update shipment and inventory spreadsheets with the latest ETAs and forecast demand, and distribute to customer and internal teams.
- Reviews all shipping documents prior to delivery to ensure all shipment documents meet customer requirements to receive the goods in their inventory.
- Request status from factories, negotiate delivery dates with forwarder, and update customer and internal team of any irregularities.
- Track and report status of all RMA/returns to internal and customer repair team.
- Coordinate with internal Customer Service Department (CSD) to manage spare parts and swap stock inventory at designated US based location.
- Attend daily supply chain meetings and distribute meeting minutes, as appropriate.
- Moderate business travel required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: bachelor's degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business, or related field
- Experience: must have 5+ years experience in logistics industry
- Experience utilizing 3PL web based applications to book, track, and run report
- Experience in international trade compliance, customs brokerage and free trade zones (Maquiladora) is preferred
- Required Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, verbal and written communication.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
