Performs a wide range of logistic responsibilities across the campus area to meet the needs of the department and support patient care. Responsibilities can include all or some of the following: Transports, delivers, cleans, and/or retrieves a variety of patient equipment, specimens, medical gases, linen, and receiving functions in support of patient care. Utilizes multiple department information systems to track, respond to and maintain records regarding customer requests. All tasks are performed in accordance with departmental customer service standards, and department Service Level Agreement (SLA), policies and procedures. Responds to department supervisor for employee coverage assignments. Actual work assignments are driven by needs of customers; may be assigned to any of the following tasks on a routine or periodic basis. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran
ResponsibilitiesEDUCATION
A minimum of a high school graduate or GED.
EXPERIENCE
One year hospital supply operations or equivalent preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, customer departments, and supervisor. Ability to read, write, understand and follow specific written and verbal instructions and procedures. Basic math skills. Basic level computer skills to operate PC in a windows environment, with ability to learn and demonstrate competency in basic data entry/data retrieval in departmental information systems utilized within unit. Operate a variety of materials handling equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. The specific vison abilities required include close vision, distance vision, distance vison, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals.
Additional InformationPosition requires excellent intrapersonal skills, with the ability to interact with your co-workers. Heavy lifting and pushing are involved. Computer acknowledge, able to drive PTI, Able to spend time walking and sitting, lifting, and pushing. Customer Service, etc.
