Our client, a leading logistics company, is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join their team. As a Logistics Specialist, you will be part of the logistics department supporting the traffic coordination team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Title: Logistics Specialist
Location: Southfield, MI
Pay Range: $18-$24 per hour depending on shift.Shifts:
- 8AM-4:30PM Tuesday thru Saturday
- 8AM-4:30PM Monday thru Friday- Weekend on Call Rotation
- 9AM-5:30PM Monday thru Friday- Weekend on Call Rotation
- 9:30AM-6PM Monday thru Friday-Weekend on Call Rotation
- 2:30PM-11PM Wednesday thru Sunday
- 3PM-11PM Monday thru Friday- Weekend on Call Rotation
- 11PM-7AM Monday thru Friday
What's the Job?
- Provide logistics support, including order entry, routing and dispatching, and traffic coordination
- Maintain customer profile information and enter loads from customer tenders into the Freight Optimizer system
- Update account managers on problem loads and what actions have been taken; update receivers and customers on status of loads
- Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries; verify that loads have arrived on time and in good condition
- Investigate product overages, shortages, damages, and complete appropriate documentation
What's Needed?
- 1 year of logistics experience
- General knowledge of the transportation industry
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience writing routine reports and correspondence
- The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form
