You will play a crucial role in facilitating the efficient and timely transport of products between Carolina Handling facilities, suppliers, and customers, all while adhering to company policies and governmental regulations. Your duties also include maintaining consistently effective communication with all relevant parties, including suppliers, internal and external customers, as well as field personnel. By fostering clear and open lines of communication, you will contribute to the smooth operation of logistics activities and ensure customer satisfaction. Overall, your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless movement of goods, maintaining compliance with regulations, and upholding high standards of customer service throughout the supply chain process. Responsibilities • Coordinate, plan, and execute distribution operations in accordance with company procedures. o Ensure timely processing of all shipments and determine appropriate volume. • Coordinate pick-up and delivery activities, ensuring adherence to delivery requirements. o Schedule and dispatch trucks accurately and promptly to meet customer demand efficiently. • Prepare and maintain necessary distribution documents and records for efficient tracking and reporting. • Track shipments from pickup through delivery, utilizing software applications for real-time monitoring. o Provide accurate and timely updates to relevant parties regarding shipment status. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure objectives are met across all areas of operation. • Negotiate with transportation providers to secure optimal rates and service quality. • Review existing distribution instructions and recommend improvements. o Manage new initiatives and participate in logistics projects to drive continuous improvement. • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports and statistics to track performance and identify trends. • Actively engage in problem-solving to address issues and challenges as they arise. • Perform filing and other administrative duties as required to support distribution operations. • Perform any other duties as assigned or required. Requirements All potential hires are subject to pre-employment checks which include but are not limited to background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle record checks. • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred or 2-3 years of relevant experience. • Possess excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction. • Basic PC knowledge and data entry skills are required for efficient operations. • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively. • Ability to interact effectively with team members, fostering good working relationships. • Basic understanding of mechanical concepts to facilitate logistics operations involving machinery or equipment. • Strong mental resilience to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure or stressful situations. • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills for clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. • Exhibit a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to manage workload efficiently.
