The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of transportation and delivery, specifically with regards to customer satisfaction. The logistics department is responsible for responding immediately to customer questions and complaints and for notifying customers about any delays in the delivery schedules. Staying on top of all accounts and coordinating with other departments are essential in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicates with Loeb Electric sourcing team, vendor partners, internal customers, and at times external customers, to ensure on time, in-full shipments are made in a manner that meets the business and customer needs.
- Plans and tracks shipments of products and materials according to customer requirements.
- Ensures maximum customer service levels are achieved and manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.
- Coordinates same-day deliveries whenever necessary.
- Coordinates the shipping of product to customers throughout the United States and, at times, internationally.
- Creates and prints shipping labels, Bills of Lading, returned shipment documents and international customs documents.
- Schedules return shipments and creates related documents.
- Develops an understanding and working knowledge of Lean Warehousing operational principles to include: Receiving product, picking and quality assuring orders, labeling packages and pallets, preparing loads and packages for shipment, preparing accurate bills of lading, continuous improvement and 5S.
- Compares rates to verify shipping price for volume quotes.
- Continually reviews freight costs and transportation rates to reduce costs where possible.
- Works with freight and small pack shipping providers to manage advantageous transportation costs and rates.
- Communicates with transportation vendors to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Researches and answers questions from internal and external customers regarding shipments.
- Responds to customer inquiries, notifies about any delays, and refers to the appropriate departments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Formal Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain training, either educational or on the job.
- 3+ years' experience in customer service and/or logistics.
- Organized and detailed with good time management skills.
- Ability to utilize computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
- Proficient with MS Office and a working knowledge of logistics software
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
