Logistics Data Specialist

We are excited to invite applications for the position of Logistics Data Specialist, a pivotal member of our newly established Global Logistics Sourcing Team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Logistics Director and Sourcing team to develop and standardize innovative processes for data mining, reporting, and visualization. Your expertise will be essential in collecting, interpreting, and analyzing logistics spending data and emerging market trends. You will play a crucial part in supporting informed decision-making in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and will prepare KPI reports for regular reporting, business reviews, and budgeting.
You will also be responsible for maintaining the Logistics Carrier Database. As part of the Global Logistics Sourcing team, your focus will be on business analytics related to sourcing and carrier performance management. You will review logistics processes and make recommendations for improvements aimed at maximizing delivery efficiency while minimizing costs. This key position requires close collaboration with the Global Logistics & Supply Chain teams, along with segment and corporate leaders, in the development of strategic plans and actions, ensuring alignment with performance goals across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee processes that continuously monitor data quality and integrity across the organization.
- Leverage both structured and unstructured data sets to generate reports that are descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and/or prescriptive to facilitate business improvements.
- Organize and visualize data from diverse sources to effectively communicate key insights and drive actionable business outcomes.
- Create and maintain tools and templates for managing, advising, and reporting on carrier risk and relationship management.
- Investigate issues to identify potential problems and proactively address them.
- Stay informed on the latest logistics innovations and competitor implementations.
- Manage both routine and unexpected disruptions to ensure continuity in product movements.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and high performance.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- B.S. in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a STEM discipline is required.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics data analysis, with a proven track record in designing and implementing effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Tableau, EDI, and data automation.
- In-depth understanding of all modes of shipment (Truck Load, Less Than Truck Load, Ocean, Air, Parcel, US domestic/International transportation).
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to work effectively in ambiguous situations, manage pressure, and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.).
- Familiarity with SAP/Oracle ERP systems, TMS, Power Apps, and Power Automate is a plus.
- Experienced in working within cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
- Proven ability using data and analytics to measure, track, and act on KPIs with a proactive, urgency-driven mindset.
