GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Provides logistics support for aerial target systems. Interfaces with Program Management and key customers with respect to Engineering Change Proposals, Depot Level Source of Repair, supply support, support equipment, test equipment, technical data, computer resources support, facilities, packaging, handling, storage, transportation, design interface, and training/training support. Overall goal of the individual is to ensure the system is affordable (lowest life cycle cost), operable, supported, and sustained through proactive execution of assigned duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Logistics Engineer ALL

The duties and responsibilities listed below apply to all levels of Logistics Engineer. Each higher level of Logistics Engineer has additional duties and responsibilities listed.

* Develops and processes Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) documentation.

* Contributes to the implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECN's)

* Insures CLS activities are properly considered and addressed.

* Supports implementation of CLS activities for approved ECPs.

* Supports development / update of training material for new/existing platforms.

* Supports development / update of Technical Manuals / Technical Orders for new/existing platforms.

* Supports CLS Time and Material CLINs (e.g., out-of-warranty repair) as required.

* Participates in beyond economic repair evaluation of components.

* Generates program related correspondence and briefing material.

* Supports program reviews and meetings.

* Fosters ethical conduct, practices, and personal integrity throughout KUAS to ensure KUAS's ability to attract and retain customers in a highly competitive environment.

* Travels to field operations locations to provide guidance and support as required.

* Travels to new customer locations to provide support as required.

* May support Contractor-Inventory Control Point (C-ICP), Contractor Supported Weapon System, and Department of Defense Air Logistics Center(s) item management functions.

* Regular outside contact - Customers and logistics support personnel as needed.

* May be responsible for a portion of the program budget.

* Accurately charges time spent on jobs.

* Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to complete assignments may result in serious delays to assigned projects with considerable expenditure of time, human resources, and funds jeopardizing future business activity.

* Other duties may be assigned.

Logistics Engineer I

* Works closely with engineering personnel during Engineering Change Request (ECR) process to develop Engineering Change Proposals.

* Gathers required data and analysis from applicable sources (subject matter experts, program history, etc.) to substantiate ECP and other logistics documentation or analysis as required.

* Assist manufacturing engineers in BER decision making.

* Performs screening of new design and replacement components using HAYSTACK and WEBFLIS.

Logistics Engineer II

In addition to the Logistics Engineer level I duties:

* Performs supportability analysis tasks to include assembling, analyzing, writing and reviewing documentation used in the Life Cycle Support of the system design.

* Analyzes life-cycle maintenance and support requirements for all levels of maintenance.

* Reviews field support requirements, identifies shortfalls, and recommends solutions.

* Participates in provisioning analysis to support development of initial spares and follow-on spares quantity recommendations for new/existing platforms.

* Develops performance metrics and support efforts involving one or more of the following disciplines: Maintenance Tasks, Provisioning, Technical Documentation, Training and Supply Chain Management.

* Interfaces and facilitates cross-functional engineering teams to analyze and recommend supportability, maintainability, improvements or recommended changes to maintenance doctrine.

* Reviews component specifications and identifies suitable alternate parts.

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Each successive level of Logistics Engineer builds on the identified typical qualifications listed for previous level(s) Logistics Engineer.

Logistics Engineer I

* A.A. or B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management required, and 2-4 years of related logistics experience, preferred.

* Demonstrated abilities to plan and prioritize work assignments.

* Proficient with MS Office and adept with database applications.

* Ability to travel with short notice.

* May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).

* Possess or able to obtain US Passport.

* Working knowledge of DoD maintenance levels and supply processes.

Logistics Engineer II

* B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management required, and 5-8 years of related logistics experience, preferred.

* Experience/knowledge/understanding of the ILS planning elements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

* 0-25% May be required between KUAS locations, internationally and or domestically.
