Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Logistics & Field Materials Advisor to work within their facilities located in Port Arthur, TX, for an initial one-year assignment.

The Logistics & Field Materials Advisor handle various Logistics and Materials Management activities directly in support of multi-billion-dollar, Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) projects at the jobsite, from initial development until operations phase of new facilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that Material Management operations at jobsite function professionally and conform to the client`s policies and procedures.
  • Reviews reports (e.g. expediting, logistics, receipt, inspection, and acceptance) on materials in route and after arrival on site or Contractor off-site storage (through report analysis and period field audits) in correlation with construction need dates.
  • Verifies importation, customs, duties and related foreign trade zone tracking and documentation to establish material traceability.
  • Analyzes Contractor's OSD (overage/shortage/damaged) reports and track damaged permanent equipment repair status.
  • Conducts regular audits of MM inspections of materials, equipment, and storage facilities to identify and address any issues or discrepancies. Represents Owner in some MM site inspections. Ensures EPC contractor accurate tracking of materials returned to supplier for repair/replacement. Analyzes and tracks ROS (required on site) dates on materials required for available and upcoming work fronts.
  • Interfaces with Marine Cargo Insurer & Marine Warranty Surveyor. Tracks ship lifting and storage plans. Coordinates the transfer of care, custody, and control of Capital Spare Parts. Supports Owner's Warehouse Set-Up/ Inventory Management.
  • Collaborates with subject-matter experts and project leadership team to provide comprehensive status updates and areas of concern. Collaborates with EPC contractor to identify any issues related to delivery delays, or discrepancies. Collaborates with Construction and Project Controls to develop strategies to mitigate potential issues and schedule delays. Collaborates with EPC contractor to resolve any issues related to material quality, delivery delays, or discrepancies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of leading procurement practices, inventory management, vendor negotiations and demonstrated ability to establish best practices, guidelines, and processes in support of implementation across the organization(s). Understand workflows and processes throughout the organization, including the people involved in the processes, their sequencing, and outputs of the processes.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, engineering, or another related field required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management and Major Capital Projects required.
  • Experience maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations preferred.
  • Energy sector knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred.
  • Certified in planning and inventory management (CPIM) preferred.
