The lead person assists logistics supervisors and logistics managers in a day-to-day workflow on the shop floor as it relates to flow of material and/or manpower assignments.Participates on schedule / assignments as given by supervisor.Works with internal customers.As a first point of contact lead person resolves upcoming issues in the area and if needed consults supervisor. Initiates requisitions for supplies and tools forwards for approval.Trains shop floor personnel as needed.Along with supervisor, the lead person is responsible for correctness of packaging and paperwork. As required oversees quality and workmanship of fellow team membersWork or assists in all areas of logistics ex. Receiving, Stock, Quality and Shipping.Has complete knowledge of business unit workflow.May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Job ResponsibilitiesCoordinates workflow in Stockroom, Receiving, Shipping by working/communicating with other shift team leads. Inventory Management in a Manufacturing Environment ex. Physical inventory , Cycle counts, SAP updates Bin to bin and location movements. Checks correctness of work done by employees assigned. Initiates requisitions for supplies and or tools as needed. Notifies the quality department, supervisor, or plant manager of any problems. Effectively communicate with team and supervisor to maintain a positive work environment. Uses computer to communicate with vendors/suppliers. Trains employees as needed. Initiates work orders for maintenance of equipment and follows through until resolution. Escalates performance issues with supervisor/manager. Work with SAP or other ERP system as related to logistics. Can work in shipping and other logistics areas as needed provided has correct skills in area requiring manpower. Ensures 5 S in work areas.Required Skills:If, to do this job at a minimum satisfactory level, the employee must have had prior work experience in a particular kind of job in the company or in a similar job with a different employer, state the kind of such experience that is required.
  • Experience in Shipping, Receiving and in Warehouse environment.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of SAP functions relating to Shipping and Warehouse operations.
  • Typically, minimum 5 years' experience in relevant Inventory Logistics operations.
Preferred Skills:
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education/Training:
  • A combination of formal education, training, and experience to acquire knowledge and skills general equivalent.
  • Minimum of a High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
