Job Description:
In this role, you will perform routine logistical support and standard administrative tasks to ensure operations flow smoothly.
Examples of Duties:
* Enters information into various computerized database and/or work order system.
* Assists with record keeping and filing systems.
* Inputs work order and purchasing information into a computer system.
* Generates standard reports when needed.
* Provides general clerical assistance to the division, including answering telephones, responding to inquiries and composing correspondence.
* Assist in ordering, tracking, stocking, organizing, and assembling fire department supplies.
* Responsible for the delivery of supplies and equipment to the department.
* Assist in maintenance shop when needed with picking up parts and supplies or moving administrative and support vehicles.
* May assist Trades Helper performs larger complex activities related to the maintenance of all Fire facilities when assistance is needed.
* Assist in assembling new equipment, furniture, and other items, performing minor maintenance or repairs to fire equipment and tools.
* Uses a variety of hand tools to perform work.
* Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external parties. Maintains communication with work site supervisors.
* Performs other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
* This position requires a high school diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education an experience.
* Valid driver's license.
Other Necessary Requirements:
* In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
* May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
