Adient SCM Logistics currently has a job opening for a Logistics Intern. Within this role, the candidate will be responsible supporting our North America logistics operations consisting of ~$300M transportation spend made up mainly from the modes of truckload, less than truckload, small package, milk run/consolidation, premium freight, ocean, int'l heavyweight air, and local dedicated contract carriage. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for the management of our carrier base and development of our NA Lead Logistics Provider. Below represents the high level responsibilities of this role as well as the qualifications.

Key responsibilities
Assist logistics team in implementing strategy related to cost savings, such as container utilization and mode optimization.
Measure carrier compliance on new Mexican Carta Porte law
Learn the logistics and procurement portions of Supply Chain Management and understand how actions affect the plants
Other activities include supporting freight payment, direct and indirect procurement and 3PL management.
Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a Bachelors' or Masters' degree in Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Available to work up to 40 hours per week.
Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analytical and problem solving ability
Strong attention to detail, planning/organization skills and follow up
Proficient in MS Office
