The Logistics & Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing inventory and freight logistics of a rail storage yard (including flow and accurate accounting of materials and finished goods).Essential functions:- Perform administrative yard functions to include inbounds, inventory adjustments, billings, and so on- Manage inventory cycle counts- Collaborate and communicate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting or shipping- Develop and implement inventory control and manage inventory systems- Create metrics, balanced scorecard, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and so on- Ability to find, rent, staff and manage remote equipment- Manage rework that might be required for shipments- Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation, including, truck, rail car and fleet transportation, safety performance and logistics quality management- Build and maintain relationship with mill at all levels, primarily as it relates to logistics- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as shipping modes, carriers, product volumes or mixes- On an as needed basis, have ability to perform periodic yard duties such as operating fork truck, labor loading trucks and rail cars, and othersMinimum Qualifications:-3+ years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management-Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus-Administrative and manufacturing experience in rail fabrication, preferred
