Summary About the Position: This position is a Military Technician position with the 79th Theater Sustainment Command, 420 Transportation Battalion, 304 Sustainment Brigade, 311 Expeditionary Sustainment Command located in Sherman Oaks, California. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. To learn more about minimum qualifications to join the Army Reserve, visit Responsibilities Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in an Army Reserve Battalion or equivalent size unit. Provide staff logistical support in areas such as supply, procurement, property accountability, transportation, equipment, maintenance, food service, and/or lodging. Review requisitions submitted through automated logistics systems. Plan for and direct activities concerned with supply distribution and use of unit equipment. Identify supply problem areas and determine required corrective action. Provide input to budget requests submitted by subordinate units for logistical requirements. Provide information to leadership on the findings of evaluations, reports, and summaries. Establish procedures for operation of the Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) and conduct training for subordinate elements. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job Specialized experience is defined as: developing and executing programs to ensure maximum utilization of logistical resources; provides guidance/assistance on logistical matters to units located within the organization; provide logistical support in areas of supply, procurement, property accountability, transportation, equipment, and/or maintenance/facilities; conducting staff visits; preparing special and recurring reports; and recommending the disposition or redistribution of excess equipment/materiel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: 1) Qualifying based on education alone: Education may be substituted for specialized experience with a Master's (or equivalent graduate degree), 2 full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B or J.D (if related). 2) Qualifying based on a combination of education and specialized experience: A combination of education and specialized experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 1 year (18 semester hours) by 18. Add the 2 percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 full year of graduate education is equivalent to 18 semester hours. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed 13 Months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted.
