Job Description:
DescriptionAssist and coordinate the day-to-day, field, and office operations to ensure quality service and product line efficiency to both internal and external customers. Provide leadership to Drivers, promote the company's safety policies, and provide a positive/approachable work environment. This is a salaried position and may be necessary to work Saturdays during certain times of the year, pending the need of the operation.Responsibilities•Help ensure drivers are performing routes knowledgeably, productively, and safely•Ensure that all drivers complete pre-trip and post-trip along with route sheets and other documentation daily•Document issues as they occur and provide solutions as quickly and safely as possible•Issue customer copies of articles while operating a route in a fast-paced environment•Participate in customer service training sessions and other activities that enhance the customer experience•Collaborate frequently with colleagues across departments, such as sales and maintenance teams, to ensure business and operational goals are achieved•Optimize our business by creating, modifying, and improving routes to maximize efficiency•Additional duties as assignedQualifications•Working knowledge of equipment to collect solid waste and/or recycling•Working knowledge of computer functions and procedures - should be able to back up Transportation Manager if needed•Assist in the completion of route audits•Ensure that all routes are completed in a timely manner•May need to fill in on route if the department is short of drivers for a lengthily period, if there is a need due to increased volume of debris•Inspect all trucks in the fleet weekly to ensure cleanliness and keep the supervisor apprised of any issues•Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to the shop immediately•Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management•Follow all safety and equipment checks and precautions in the performance of all duties•Comply with all federal, state, local, and company rules on safety and vehicle operation•Complete route observations on all routes on a pre-determined basis, document findings, and provide reports to the immediate supervisor•Assist the Transportation Manager with accident investigations and preparing the necessary paperworkExperience and Licensing Requirements:•Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)•Minimum one (2) years of satisfactory driving experience in a Class A vehicle•Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel or possesses the ability to learn is desired•Must pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
