Robstown, TX

Our client, an industry leader in freight transportation services, is seeking a Dispatch Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient scheduling, routing, and coordination of deliveries to maximize operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of service quality and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. This Manager will oversee six dispatchers who are responsible for the logistics of five Trout Trucking locations throughout Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the scheduling and routing of the fleet to ensure timely, cost-effective and efficient delivery.
  • Utilize logistics software to develop and implement effective routing strategies that minimize costs and maximize delivery efficiency.
  • Supervise a team of dispatchers and logistics personnel, providing guidance, critical thinking, process improvement, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and morale while also communicating across departments and with upper management.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their delivery needs, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to scheduling and deliveries.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics KPIs, such as delivery times, route optimization, equipment operating ratio, company beneficial miles driven, and driver performance, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Ensure all operations comply with federal and state regulations, including DOT guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Assist in the development and management of the logistics budget, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Quickly address and resolve operational challenges, such as vehicle breakdowns or route changes, to minimize disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or transportation management, with a focus on fleet operations.
  • Must be on-call as needed
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of building relationships with customers and team members.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Familiarity with logistics management software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Thorough understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
