  • Responsible to the Project Supply Chain Manager for the coordination of the traffic & logistics process for an important pilot project located in the Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, Gulf Coast USA.
  • Duties will include planning and coordinating material and equipment collections and deliveries with vendors, client representatives and the jobsite, travel to Port Locations, vendor shops to review transportation planning work, and follow- up to ensure receipt of equipment/materials working with cross multi-functional Supply Chain and Field Services Teams domestically and internationally.
  • Provision of administration in support of projects or other operating requirements
  • Participation in project supply management strategy development with regard to project traffic & logistics and in collaboration with other supply chain disciplines such as Expediting, Materials Management, Purchasing. May participate in internal and external project presentations in collaboration with Engineering, Field Services and Construction disciplines.
  • Establishing and implementing effective logistics plans, procedures, estimates and KPI's for assigned Project located in the Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, Gulf Coast USA.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain and Construction & Field Services Teams to ensure Logistics capabilities are delivering successful Project logistics capability to safely and effectively meet the Project schedule.
  • When requested, travel to destinations to advise on critical shipments, perform shipment surveys and work with Naval Architects, Marine warranty surveyors for the insurability of transport of goods and equipment.
  • Establish overall program loss mitigation protocols required for insurance claims
Tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Actively liaise and engage with the client and Worley Project staff to provide Logistics advice and deliver Logistics capability
  • Coordinate all 3rd Party Logistics service provider activities through close liaison with subcontracts and procurement
  • Must be available to work in the Office on a base 40-hour work schedule.
  • Create project specific Logistics execution plans for publishing to Client and Project Personnel, in consideration with upstream and downstream activities required for Project operational successes.
  • Establish and supervise a Project logistics Team that may consist of 3PL/4PL service providers as well as additional direct hired Personnel direct assets when necessary to support Logistics activities for an important pilot project.
  • Establish Project reporting templates, documentation requirements, packing standards and frequencies of distribution in alignment with overall Project objectives and requirements
  • Ensure all Logistics HSE and Journey Management requirements are closely monitored for compliance within the Project Logistics Team and Subcontractors.
  • Provide input to risk reduction/cost benefit initiatives leading to recommendations on the optimum project logistics strategies to adopt. This includes analysis of potential logistic infrastructure enhancements, consolidation, transshipment, consolidation and optimization opportunities.
  • When requested by the Project Logistics Manager of Project Supply Chain & Procurement Manager; provide recommendations to support development of Client's purchasing & logistics strategy including: provision of specialist logistics advice to Client; shaping and influencing the development of logistics methodologies, heavy transport and transfer plans, processes and procedures; competitive selection of professional 3PL/4PL services; identification and establishment of supply chain linkage and interfaces to include advise on IncoTerms, HTS Classifications, Import and Export Customs Clearance and Trade Compliance practices /processes.
  • Provide regular management briefings on the status of the Logistics Support to the Project
  • Provide Management statistics as required to support KPI analysis and progress reporting
  • When required as requested, travel to locations at Project approved expense to solve issues related to Logistics planning and transportation services
Qualifications and Key Competencies:
  • University Degree or equivalent in related field or applicable discipline; or equivalent relevant experience. 15(+) years relevant Project Management, Project execution experience including specialized transportation planning and services
  • Market and carrier direct contracting experience
  • Advanced English level
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial transportation and logistics practices, processes, regulatory requirements and standards
  • Keen safety awareness
  • Excellent communicator
  • Operates well in multi-company team environment
  • Prompt and driven worker
  • Accountable to the Logistics Manager technically and directly to the Project Supply Chain or Procurement Manager for the effective execution of and procedures related to traffic & logistics, (including but not limited to, safety and ethics)
  • Timeliness, accuracy and adequacy of traffic & logistics and administration activities
  • Fulfilment of traffic & logistics requirements during project performanc
  • Effective supervision of change activity to assure adequate protection of the company against potential supplier claims
  • Timeliness, accuracy and adequacy of problem identification, status reporting and corrective action
  • Effectiveness of relationships with suppliers, management, construction, customers, support organizations, and project team members
  • Assures compliance with Supply Management policies and procedures and brings any non-compliance issues to the attention of management
  • May be called upon to supervise the activities of other supply management personnel in support of project traffic & logistics activities
  • Has strong communications skills both written and verbal. Is able to effectively author internal and external communications, and reports
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and interact with operations, project, and construction management as part of an execution Team
  • Multi-modal transportation contract management skills required
  • Must communicate effectively in order to organize others and motivate them to achieve
  • Uses personal computer in support of supply management including Supply Management software, electronic mail, and standard desktop software
