The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations. This role ensures the timely, cost-effective, and compliant distribution of pharmaceutical products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
- Optimize routes, carriers, and shipping schedules to minimize costs and delivery times.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while preventing overstock or shortages.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams to forecast and plan inventory needs.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, WHO, and other international and local pharmaceutical regulations.
- Oversee the proper handling, storage, and transportation of temperature-sensitive products.
- Maintain strict adherence to Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) compliance requirements
- Negotiate contracts with logistics providers, couriers, and warehouse operators.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners to enhance service delivery.
- Supervise and mentor the logistics team to achieve operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety within the logistics department.
- Use data analytics to track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to address operational challenges and improve overall performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of GDP, FDA, DEA, and international logistics regulations.
- Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
