Our company is looking for a Logistics Manager with experience in the metal fabrication industry. This individual prepares shipments and manages the logistics of the delivery schedules, coordinating with the Production Supervisor, Project Managers, and Field Erectors.Candidates with a current CDL or previously having held a CDL are highly preferred.General Responsibilities:
- Work with the Production Supervisor to assure that fabrications are complete for delivery.
- Coordinate, finish for products by outside vendors, (galvanizing, special paint)
- Order, locate and load hardware and field drawings.
- Coordinate with PM's to schedule drivers for deliveries.
- Alert PM's and erectors of issues preventing scheduled deliveries.
- Assist with loading of the trucks
- Maintain consignment hardware inventory
- Supervise drivers and evaluate their performance
- Test potential drivers to evaluate their fitness
- Assure all tractor and trailers are safe and inspected annually
Required Skills:
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling 70 pounds unassisted
- Physically capable of bending/twisting as well as standing for prolonged periods of time
- Able to work well with minimal supervision as well as with other colleagues
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and has a positive attitude
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check
