Job Description:
ARL Network is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our logistics office in Birmingham. As the Operations Manager, you will oversee and optimize various aspects of our operations, with a primary focus on Rates, Quality assurance, Vendor management, and Sales Support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure the smooth execution of our logistics services.Key Responsibilities:Rates:
  • Conduct RFQ (Request for Quotation) analysis to optimize maximum potential.
  • Manage specialized rates, including Over-dimensional, Drayage, International, Air Freight, Warehousing, Expedited, Dump Trailers, and Projects.
Quality:
  • Monitor and respond to exceptions found during Life Cycle of the Load audits.
  • Manage tracking and dispatching SOPs to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Uphold carrier management SOPs and ensure carriers are cleared for approval.
  • Create and implement policies and SOPs to support operations and sales.
  • Participate in the training of new and existing employees, emphasizing continuous improvement.
  • Develop reporting tools and guides to assist operations and sales teams.
  • Act as an escalation point for operations issues to ensure timely resolution.
Vendor:
  • Serve as the Vendor Liaison for key partners such as TABI, Vooma, Greenscreens, TAI, and S2Q.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate processes, systems, and new vendors seamlessly into our operations.
  • Complete all new user onboarding for each vendor for our new hires.
  • Responsible for offboarding users from each vendor when they part with ARL Network.
Sales Support:
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Managers to support client relationships and sales initiatives.
  • Provide full carrier sourcing support from Carrier Sales to meet client requirements.
  • Act as a temporary account manager in the interim of Sales Executives' leaves, vacations, etc.
Training:
  • Responsible for training new sales hires with regard to operations.
Ideally, the candidate meets the following:
  • 3+ years of freight/logistics experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work on-site in an office 5 days per week
  • Prides themselves in being a lifelong learner
  • Having prior logistics sales experience is a plus
