Overview

Develops and implements multiple strategies to maximize the traffic income available from MTH (Merchants Transport of Hickory) private fleet, for hire, brokerage authority, and Dedicated Carrier Services. Accountable for achieving all budgeted revenue and expenses.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities: Develops and executes plans to maximize logistics income. Develops and maintains client relationships by developing effective ways to transport customers freightutilizing MTH Services. Cultivating new sales leads to establishing business. Generates the sales funnel for MTH Logistics services. Negotiates related conditions, rates, andservices. Develops and establishes quotes for current and prospective customers. Updates and maintains Logistics Management System to support the functioning of the department. Performs analytical and logistics planning activities to optimize efficiency and financial performance. Proactively identifies problems and implements effective solutions to effect short-term and long-termperformance. Provides follow-up for improved customer satisfaction with clients as needed. Applies negotiating and effectiveproblem-solving skills to develop win-win situations - to facilitate long-term client relationships. Responsible for achieving departmental objectives that support the financial and service performance of theenterprise through the interrelationship with other business units (Procurement, Sales, Distribution, 3rd PartyStorage, and Private Fleet). Establishes and achieves KPI's that support the profitability of the department and company. Oversees billing and billing close out to ensure detention and all other related accessorial charges are billed. Oversees account receivables ensuring payment terms are met according to established contracts. Negotiate and procure Power-only carrier solutions to supplement the needs of the private fleet. Seeks and establishes freight opportunities for alternative locations within a growing network - this includesthe existing Atlanta domicile. Works on numerous balanced scorecard teams to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, vendor relationsand profitability Partners and collaborates with a multitude of departments throughout the organization to establish andaccomplish strategic goals and objectives. Oversees and manages three (3) dedicated carrier operations to support all MTH logistics needs - Contractstotal $8 million annually. Will contract with many additional support carriers to supplement capacity to achieve financial and serviceobjectives. Conducts industry research, focusing on both existing and potential customers as well as performingcompetitive market analysis.

Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications: The incumbent should possess the skills and knowledge associated with a bachelor's degree in business orrelated field, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in the transportation / logistics industry. Must have effective communication, analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Have a strong working knowledge of TMS and routing systems. Exceptional customer service (sales) skills with the ability to negotiate rates, sell services and buildprofessional relationships.Dimensions: Manages 10+ employees. Manages 2 dedicated carrier operations consisting of 35+ drivers For Hire/MTH: 1000+ loads per month Yearly Average Income: Backhaul Logistics/For Hire: $13.2 M Detention Fees: $45,000 Cardboard Hauling: $600,000 Expenses $11.2 M EBITDA $3 M
