Job Overview
The Logistic Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. This role involves analyzing supply chain data, creating and managing schedules, tracking shipments, and coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams. The Logistic Planner will play a crucial role in optimizing logistics processes, minimizing costs, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and manage detailed logistics schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Plan optimal routes for transportation, considering cost, time, and efficiency.
- Create contingency plans for unexpected delays or supply chain disruptions.
- Shipment Coordination:
- Monitor, track, and report the status of shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to manage shipment bookings and documentation.
- Resolve issues related to shipping delays, damage, or other logistical challenges.
- Inventory and Warehouse Management:
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure inventory levels are maintained according to demand forecasts.
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments to optimize warehouse space and resources.
- Ensure that the right products are available at the right time and location.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for process improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping, delivery times, and costs.
- Use data to make informed decisions to improve overall logistics performance.
- Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Optimize transportation costs by negotiating with carriers and consolidating shipments when possible.
- Track logistics expenses and contribute to budget forecasting.
- Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining service quality.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international shipping regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shipments, customs documents, and invoices.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the procurement, production, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics with overall business goals.
- Support customer service by providing accurate delivery information and resolving logistics-related customer inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics planning, supply chain management, or a related role.
- Experience with logistics software (e.g., TMS, WMS, SAP) and route optimization tools.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
