Job Overview:
To better serve the global auto industry electric vehicle trend in the United States, CATL, through its U.S.-based subsidiary Contemporary Amperex Technology Kentucky, LLC (CATK), is seeking a full-time and salary-exempted Logistics Planning Supervisor to join the dynamic team. The Logistics Planning Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the planning, implementation, and optimization of logistics systems for our new factory. This role involves designing end-to-end supply chain architecture, planning material flow, setting up warehousing layouts, and managing logistics operations. The successful candidate will ensure the seamless integration of logistics systems with overall business strategies and will collaborate with various teams to enhance operational efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Design and implement comprehensive supply chain architecture to support business operations.
- Develop and optimize logistics processes to ensure efficient material flow from raw materials to finished products.
- Set up logistics PEEP (Plan, Execute, Evaluate, and Progress) material flow planning for the new factory.
- Plan and design warehousing layouts to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
- Establish a robust logistics management system to support factory operations.
- Responsible for pulling the system and integrating the overall logistics system design.
- Ensure seamless docking and integration of logistics systems with other business functions.
- Conduct general level reviews of logistics systems and facilities to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
- Coordinate the deployment of logistics systems and oversee the packaging design for raw materials and finished products.
- Manage customs and international transportation processes, including the handling of raw materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics planning and management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain architecture and logistics systems design.
- Experience in setting up and managing warehousing layouts and logistics management systems.
- Understanding of international transportation, customs processes, and packaging design.
- Excellent project management and coordination skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in using logistics and supply chain management software.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and creating pivot tables.
- Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance is required for this position.
- Ability to interact professionally with individuals of varied backgrounds and skill levels.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move around work sites, which may include walking, standing, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, particularly when inspecting installations or troubleshooting
- Capability to lift and carry moderate weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds, as some equipment and materials might be heavy.
- Occasional lifting of heavier items may be required, depending on the project.
- Ability to work in various environments, including offices, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites, which may require driving or other forms of transportation.
