Job Description:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining a healthy relationship with internal distribution customers. He/She will gather pertinent information from logistics specialists as well as clinical supplies project managers or depot coordinators for the distribution aspects of projects. The Logistics Coordinator will develop, train, and document all distribution staff on new protocols, if applicable, upon Logistics Specialist approval. He/She will coordinate all logistics tasks including receiving, distribution, returns, and destruction.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance for all logistics-related functions including receiving, distribution, returns, and destruction.
  • Establish quotes for logistics based on information provided by the internal parties and input from the Clinical Supplies Project Manager and Management.
  • Coordinate distribution protocol from quote to the end of the study under Logistics Specialist's supervision.
  • Provide feedback to management to improve new and existing processes.
  • Suggest packaging and distribution solutions to Distribution Department and Clinical Supplies Project Managers in order to improve distribution process efficiencies.
  • Write distribution instructions, as needed.
  • Document training of all members of distribution on new distribution protocols.
  • Analyze the daily distribution activities with distribution management to modify the distribution process and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate distribution only protocols from receiving to returns & destruction.
  • Assist with the creation of pro forma/commercial invoices and assist customers with application for import licenses as needed.
  • Maintain all shipping documentation including, but not limited to: filing, scanning, retrieving documentation, re-filing, etc.
  • Create and update import/export regulation database as needed.
  • Assist in investigations pertaining distribution-related issues.
  • Comply with all cGMP guidelines.
  • Adhere to set safety standards.
  • Participate actively in regular meetings.
  • Achieve expected performance measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics or related field; three to five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Excellent oral and written communication is required to communicate with the team, peers, management and external contacts. Ability to speak effectively before a group of any combination of the above.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Project and Excel.
  • Must have the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Effective communication, organization, planning, initiative, follow-through, and responsiveness skills are a must.
Knowledge in pharmaceutical and/or international shipping is preferred.
