Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Logistics Specialist/Coordinator for a St Louis, MO client. This is a temp to hire opportunity and is onsite M-F. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE 6+MONTHS EXPERIENCE IN FRIEGHT BROKERAGE INDUSTRY*****
$20-25 an hour based on experience
This role requires 1-4 years of experience in the transportation or logistics industry, with a minimum of 2 years in transportation brokerage. The ideal candidate will play a key role in optimizing our logistics operations, building strong relationships with carriers, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Transportation Brokerage: Coordinate and manage transportation brokerage services, including negotiating rates with carriers, booking freight, and tracking shipments.
* Client and Carrier Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with clients and carriers to ensure efficient communication and problem resolution. Act as a primary contact for transportation inquiries and issues.
* Load Planning and Optimization: Analyze and optimize load plans to maximize transportation efficiency and reduce costs. Use industry software to track, schedule, and dispatch shipments.
* Data and Document Management: Maintain accurate records, including billing, invoices, and transportation documents. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
* Problem Solving: Proactively resolve logistics issues, such as delivery delays, carrier challenges, and route adjustments. Provide solutions that maintain service levels and client satisfaction.
* Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, including cost analysis, shipment accuracy, and on-time delivery metrics. Provide insights to improve future operations.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
o 1-4 years in transportation/logistics industry a min of 6+ months in FREIGHT BROKERAGE industry
* Technical Skills: Proficient in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) is a plus.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities to optimize operations and address logistics challenges effectively.
