Job DescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Logistics Supervisor-Support works cross-functionally within Dole Fresh Vegetables (DFV) supply chain as the primary resource leading activities for transportation supplier sourcing, capacity development, and enterprise level supplier management. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION: •Responsible for leading transportation services RFPs and bid for DFV supply chain strategically and tactically. •Support and engage in relationship management of suppliers in conjunction with DFV logistics leadership •Identify potential new suppliers and capabilities and perform due diligence and vetting actions to qualify them for use in DFV's supply chain. •Responsible for understanding and maintaining transportation and freight market trends that are relevant to meeting DFV's transportation services. •Maintains and completes routing guide management with DFV's Transportation Management System (TMS). •Manage the supplier scorecard processes and supplier business reviews process •Perform advanced analytical data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis and problem analysis. •Provide reporting and analytics support for the customer proforma pricing process and adherence to proforma projections. •Responsible for gathering, filing, and assisting manager in contract and carrier compliance documents. •Supervises resources and functions that provide our daily track and trace information and reporting •Supervises resources that provide DFV's logistics afterhours and weekend resources that provide support and execution of logistics activities during these periods •Will directly participate and contribute with maintaining, developing, and working projects and initiatives, in conjunction with logistics leadership, other functional DFV teams, and TMS vendor related to our TMS and other internal DFV or external business systems. •Supervises the activities, work performance and development of direct reports. •Works in a collaborative way with other members and key stakeholders across DFV's Supply Chain. •Provides support to the logistics manager to include driving continuous improvement opportunities of DFV's TMS related to logistics strategy and plans. •Supports and contributes with ad hoc logistics, transportation, or supply chain projects. Required SkillsJOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: •A minimum of 3-5 years recent, verifiable experience as a supply chain or logistics supervisor or analyst or like positions in supply chain functions in a high volume (Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, Logistics, Customer Service) consumer package goods or food company •Supervise, coach, develop the Logistics Coordinator and Logistics Specialists positions •Ensure deliverables performed by team are maintained, completed timely, and with consistent accuracy. •Strong level of proficiency in working with data mining, analysis, and data presentation from business systems. •Proficient and experienced user of Microsoft Windows Office suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) + experience with other data warehouse and management applications (Power BI, QBase, etc.). •Capable of working in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to adapt to variable business conditions •Strong capability of problem solving and resolution skills in operational situations. •Demonstrated analytical skills and experience working with company data reporting systems with ability to present findings across different levels of the organization. •Must have demonstrated knowledge of transportation functions and life cycle of transportation transactions from capacity sourcing to payment. •Demonstrated experience and knowledge of multi-modal transportation operations, activities, and contract and spot market business transactions. •Direct negotiating experience with suppliers. •Cold Chain and temperature control produce transportation experience a plus. •Knowledge and experience of customer delivered transportation operations and transportation activity to support Plant/Manufacturing/Distribution operations in a multi-facility network. •Experience with Microsoft Windows Suite - (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). •Experience with web and/or cloud-based Logistics or Transportation Management Systems required. •Ability to work under pressure and prioritize timelines with a sense of urgency as required. •Team player and experience working within a collaborative, cross functional environment. •Demonstrated conflict resolution management soft skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear. •The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs. WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: •Shift: Days (additional hours as business needs require) •Shifts: Monday thru Friday •Some holiday shifts as business requires. Required ExperienceEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: •Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics management, business, operations, mathematics, statistics, finance or accounting preferred •Or equivalent relevant experience PAY RATE:
  • $80,000 - $85,000 per year
