Job Description:

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM ), has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Supervisor to join their team in Carlisle, PA . The Logistics Supervisor leads and directs the traffic department to efficiently move materials and products to designated destinations. Develops and maintains transportation processes to maximize delivery efficiency, minimize cost and meet customer expectations. Evaluates and selects transportation services that best meet company goals. Duties and Responsibilities: Works with carrier base and corporate transportation to secure capacity to meet the demands of the Carlisle Campus. Maintain and further develop relationships with current carriers and actively pursue new ones. Evaluate and manage dedicated drive contracts to supplement capacity during seasonal volume spikes. Regularly monitors carrier rate and delivery performance. When appropriate, negotiates rates with carrier representatives and maintains accurate pricing and routing information in SAP. Reviews carrier performance monthly for on time delivery and freight claims. Daily review of Ship-To-Promise metric and updating delay codes in SAP as needed. Work with OMS (Order Management Specialist) to ensure STP (Ship to Promise) code accuracy. Reviews invoices, via SAP work cycles, for discrepancies. Ensures that freight class information and freight charges are accurate prior to approving invoices for payment. Reviews inventory availability to reduce backorders and improve customer satisfaction. Works closely with the distribution team, inventory control team and production staff to provide inventory for at risk orders. Ensures the departments compliance to government transportation regulations. Knowledge of NMFC, DOT, IATA, and IMDG requirements for packaging and documentation compliance to successfully ship CCM products domestically and internationally by road, air and ocean. Supervision of traffic department staff: hiring, training, development, coaching and performance evaluation / feedback. Knowledge of and ability to backfill traffic department staff when needed. Maintenance of SAP master data to ensure compliance with transportation regulations based on transportation mode. Builds strong mutually beneficial relationship with CCM Customer Service, focused on meeting the expectations of our customers. Manage and support all expectations of planned, initiated, and ongoing COS (Carlisle Operating System) programs. Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong time management and follow up skills. Ability to direct others, evaluate performance, and provide coaching feedback Experience with SAP and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) Flatbed trucking industry knowledge Knowledge of DOT and hazardous materials regulations Education and Experience: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Administration preferred Experience: 3- 5 years of relevant experience in transportation / distribution Supervisory experience preferred
