Logistics Supervisor As a Logistics Supervisor at Outdoor Gear Exchange, you will oversee the daily shifts to ensure the seamless functioning of our logistics and supply chain processes. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing shipping, receiving, backstock management, incoming triage, restocking the sales floor, and enhancing overall inventory control. As a key leader, you will also be responsible for opening and closing the shop, ensuring a smooth start and end to each operational day. Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Coordination:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Logistics Specialist team.
- Coordinate all logistics activities, ensuring a collaborative and efficient workflow.
- Participate in regular team meetings to communicate goals and expectations.
Shipping and Receiving:
- Execute and supervise outbound and inbound shipments for accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with carriers and vendors to optimize logistics processes.
- Implement and enforce proper packaging and handling procedures.
Inventory Control Management:
- Take a lead role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits.
- Implement strategic measures to minimize shrinkage and improve overall inventory accuracy.
Backstock Optimization:
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient backstock management.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize warehouse space and organization.
Triage:
- Oversee the inspection of incoming goods for quality and quantity.
- Prioritize and classify incoming items based on urgency and storage requirements.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve issues with incoming shipments.
Restock:
- Execute and supervise the timely and accurate restocking of products on the sales floor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product placement and merchandising requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor sales trends to anticipate and fulfill restocking needs.
Opening and Closing Procedures:
- Responsible for opening and closing the shop according to scheduled hours.
- Ensure all security and safety protocols are followed during opening and closing procedures.
Requirements Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics is a plus.
- Proven experience in a logistics or supply chain supervisory role is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory control best practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in using logistics management software and MS Office suite.
