Job Description Logistics Team Leader Location: Austell, GA Pay: $70k - $75k, plus bonus and generous benefits Position Type: This is an immediate, full-time, permanent onsite position based in Austell, GA. Our team at The Recruiting Pros is conducting a high-priority search for a talented Logistics Team Leader on behalf of a growing wholesaler/distributor of consumer products located in Austell, GA. This is an exciting time to join the team as the company continues to invest in the people, processes and technology. In this newly created position you will partner with cross-functional teams in Quality, Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing to proactively identify and resolve quality and service issues relating to logistics operations. You will manage the logistics activities including inventory control, transportation, logistics planning and order fulfillment and be accountable for logistics-related savings and productivity KPI's. This is an immediate, full-time, permanent position and will require you to work onsite in Austell, GA. Routine responsibilities will require you to:
  • Assist in developing the site logistics budget with a focus on continuously improving year over year performance against metrics.
  • Coordinate and manage operational redesign projects to improve performance and meet customer needs.
  • Monitor fixed assets and coordinate implementation of approved capital improvement projects in the functional area.
  • Monthly compilation and reporting of logistics metrics to Leadership team.
  • Continuously resolves quality, service & cost issues.
  • Support oversight of inventory levels and carrying costs
  • Oversee and Manage Bi-Annual Inventory and Reporting process.
  • Manage and execute annual Ocean Transportation RFQ's and Contracts
  • Communicate pertinent logistical challenges and risks to Procurement as it relates to delays in transit time, port congestion or other issues that affect on on-time arrivals of product.
  • Manage and Coordinate Government Audits and Yearly Documentation submissions such as CTPAT and FSC.
Required education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business or a related field of study.
  • 3 to 5 years leading a team in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, or related environment
  • Proficiency in NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience with Ship Hawk, a strong plus
  • Experience with ocean transportation
  • Project management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, think critically and work well in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
