FLSmidth Cement is looking for a Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager for our Americas business operations. This position will be responsible for the inbound and outbound logistics for our office located in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Through managing a group of 8 to 12 employees located in the US, Mexico and India, this role will lead the direction in which we transport material and finished goods to our customers throughout the Americas, and will be responsible for the management and execution of FLSmidth Cement's US import and export compliance activities.
The Logistics manager will be part of the FLSmidth Cement Americas Regional Procurement team that consists of 30+ employees whose responsibility is to support our Services business throughout the Americas.
Your responsibilities
* Manage Logistics and supervise team including monitoring workload and timeliness of shipments.
* Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports and/or customer issues.
* Ensure FLS is in compliance with all transports both imports and exports by developing policies and procedures.
* Establish and maintain an import/export compliance training program.
* Identify verified or potential non-compliance activities and coordination of response with Legal, e.g., penalty actions and disclosures.
* Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable import/export regulations.
* Monitor and maintain an awareness of governmental initiatives and regulatory changes, which would affect FLSmidth Cement's import/export compliance activities, and disseminate information to business.
* Manage tariff preference programs including 9801, GSP, USMCA, and other free trade agreements or special programs.
* ECCN classifications and export Licensing determinations/applications.
* Support ACE-related activities as TAO including managing access and filing export declarations.
* Import licensing determinations/applications.
* FTA, country of origin, and valuation determinations/certifications.
* Identify compliance opportunities e.g. duty drawback , Section 301 exclusions, FTZ, etc.
* AD/CVD determinations.
What you bring
* Bachelor's degree or the equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.
* Thorough transportation knowledge.
* Thorough knowledge of Supply Chain and overall business processes.
* Experience in Managing processes and people.
* Must be a team player & work well with people.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A thorough working knowledge of CFR Title 19 including ability to navigate and apply the HTSUS GRI, notes, and CROSS rulings.
* A thorough working knowledge of CFR Title 15 FTR and EAR including ability to navigate and apply CCL.
* A basic ability to read and interpret technical information, specifications, and drawings.
* 5+ Years direct experience managing import and export compliance.
* Licensed Customs Broker experience strongly preferred.
* Knowledge of Canada and Mexico import/export regulations strongly preferred.
* Experience in the mining / mineral processing or similar industry a plus.
* Oracle experience preferred
