Position Overview: Aitkin Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as a long-term substitute for the elementary school office staff at Rippleside Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented professional who can support daily office operations, including assisting students, parents, and staff members, managing communication, and performing general administrative duties. Key Responsibilities: • Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries. • Manage student attendance records, including tracking absences and tardiness. • Perform student data entry and maintain accurate student records and cumulative files. • Assist with scheduling, communication, and coordination of meetings and events. • Handle incoming mail and distribute correspondence as needed. • Provide support for various administrative tasks, such as preparing documents for parents and staff, copying, and assisting with phone calls. • Assist with other office duties as assigned by the principal or administrative staff.
- Assist in the health office with minor student medical needs.
Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is a plus. • Prior experience in a school office or similar setting is preferred. • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficiency in using office software (Google applications) and familiarity with office equipment (e.g., copier, fax machine). • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset. • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced school environment and handle unexpected situations with professionalism.
