At The Norman Howard School (NHS) we teach students with learning disabilities using NYS Standard and NHS instructional strategies in a safe and supportive classroom environment.Job Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction, individually and in groups.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Use a variety of formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and achievement of the instructional objectives and IEP goals.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
- Communicate to parents the level of student achievement and progress toward established classroom, school and state standards and students' IEP goals.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and school policy.
- Participate in school activities and events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education and New York State Certification in Special Education preferred.
- Able to work flexible hours to accommodate parent/guardian meetings, school activities, and other mandated events/meetings.
Salary:
- $29.51-$37.42/hour based on experience
Scheduling:
- This position will start around February 2025 for an undetermined amount of time.
