Position Title: Site Coordinator - LOOP Program - Unit: Support Non-Exempt Pay Rate: Determined by the district (6.0 hours a day/ 30 hours a week) The hourly range listed is based on average 1-15 years of experience. *Specific hourly rate paid is based on relevant years of experience. SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is responsible for the successful implementation and facilitation of 21st Community Learning Center after-school youth development programs at the assigned elementary or middle school sites - adhering to the Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) Standards for out of school time, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) MOST Standards, Youth Program Quality (YPQ), and Child Care licensing regulations as required. Other essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: JOB FUNCTIONS: Administrative Responsibilities Responsible for direct communication and delivery of the after-school program, to and with, OEL and the building principal. Responsible for maintaining student and program information via MSU EZReports and Scores Reporter. Facilitate the after-school Student/Parent Advisory Committee. Attend all meetings, trainings and program planning sessions scheduled and/or specified by the Office of Extended Learning (OEL). Represent after school program at open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and orientations. Maintain open and ongoing communication with the OEL staff, building principal and/or designee, school day staff and after school program staff. Collect and submit all necessary documentation as required by OEL. Keep confidential records in a locked cabinet at all times. Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined by Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS), Michigan Department of Education, and licensing. Meet required reporting deadlines. Other duties as assigned. Program Evaluation Distribute and collect data for program evaluation as required (surveys). Assist in evaluation of all outside vendors providing services. Personnel Management Responsibilities Supervision of program-delivery with 21st CCLC staff. Assist in evaluation of program staff (i.e., vendors, volunteers and student workers). Keep immediate supervisor informed of volunteer and staff personnel issues. Program Management Responsibilities Be present in the center full time; (AM and PM programs) Act as a liaison between GRPS and school administration, teachers and the community. Plan and implement family engagement activities. Be on-site during all programming hours and reachable (via phone/email) during times when students are being transported to/from program. Coordinate all program-delivery logistics, including site requirements, transportation to/from programs/events, food service, ordering & pick-up of supplies. Collaborate with academic lead teacher on building School Improvement Team meetings to support academics. Collaborate with school day teachers to support academics. Collaborate with community partner agencies to provide services for elementary/middle school students. Document attendance of students and staff. Recruiting, orientating and enrolling children/families to the program. Maintain contact with Parents/Guardians. Maintain a safe and orderly environment. Follow procedures for Mandated Reporting (as required by law) and GRPS procedures regarding Mandated Reporting. Follow GRPS and standard Risk Management procedures. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Required education and experience in one of the following (serving AM and PM programs): Education Coursework in a Child-Related Field Hours of Experience (a) Bachelor's degree or higher in a child-related field (b) Montessori credential with 12 semester hours 480 hours (c) Associates degree in a child-related field and 12 semester hours 480 hours (d) Valid Michigan school-age youth development credential with 12 semester hours 480 hours (e) Valid child development associate credential with 12 semester hours 480 hours (f) Sixty semester hours with 12 semester hours 720 hours (g) High school diploma or GED with 6 semester hours 2,880 hours (h) *Alternate education, coursework and hours per LARA R400.8119 Other required qualifications Be at least 21 years of age Prior to working with students, complete LARA (PA116) mandated requirements: Comprehensive Childcare Background Check (CCBC) including fingerprinting by LARA approved agencies. Obtain CCBC eligibility to work in a licensed childcare facility. Complete MIRegistry Health and Safety Online Course 1 and Health and Safety Online Course 2; submit learning record transcript to Office of Extended Learning upon completion. Obtain First Aid Certification and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by LARA approved agencies; submit ARC/AHA certificate/card to Office of Extended Learning upon completion. Negative TB Test; verification of TB status is required Valid state issued ID. Fingerprinting required by hiring agency. Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry Check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication skills. Strong organizational and planning skills. Strong collaborative and team-building skills; ability to work as part of a team. Ability to coordinate volunteer and program-delivery efforts. Human relations skills, including the ability to work with a diverse group of students, parents, administrators, teachers, volunteers, and community members. Creative problem-solving skills. Knowledge of youth development (developmental assets). Good computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheet software, etc. Reliable transportation. Supervisory experience. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Program Directors/Site Coordinators are required to complete a minimum of 16 clock hours of professional development training annually, in addition to CPR, first aid, and blood borne pathogens training/certification.
