POSITION SUMMARY:

The Loss Prevention Agent is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of store assets, employees, and customers, while adhering to all related policies and legal regulations. The Loss Prevention Agent will visit our Southern California stores experiencing challenges with vagrancy, trespassing, solicitation, and persons using our property for purposes other than shopping, as well as a variety of other issues that may arise. The Loss Prevention Agent will seek to resolve issues before they become problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Understand and value confidentiality.
  • Build partnerships with customers and community members.
  • Collaborate with Loss Prevention to prioritize where enforcement efforts are needed.
  • Conduct enforcement visits.
  • Routinely drive back and forth to store locations.
  • Document enforcement activities in written reports.
  • Partner with Law Enforcement, as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver License.
  • Previous work experience in loss prevention preferred, or a related field with an emphasis on Security Guard type work.
  • Be polite and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Possess ability to calmly interact with individuals who are uncooperative, belligerent, intoxicated or who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work with Law Enforcement, Code Enforcement, and other City/County Agencies as a representative for Heritage Grocers Group.
  • Possess strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be an effective communicator; verbally and in writing.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS

The physical demands and work conditions listed below are essential to successfully perform the functions of this job. Some requirements may be modified to accommodate individuals with disabilities:

  • Regularly operate motor vehicles.
  • Sit, stand, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to focus eyesight from near to far during daytime and nighttime hours.
  • The work environment will include both interior and exterior patrols at numerous locations as needed/directed.

Disclaimer:

Pay Scale $20.00 to $23.00

The pay scale above is the salary or hourly wage range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position.

Within this range, individual pay is determined by location and other factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with California Labor Code 432.3 and state and local minimum wage standards.
