Job Description:
1pm to 9:30pm Monday night thru Friday Night with rotating SaturdaysThis person is expected to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with facility personnel, all levels of management, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies. The Loss Prevention Associate must work with discretion and professionalism, and maintain confidentiality at all times.JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitors facilities through direct observation and the use of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Assists the LPM with investigations of crimes committed against the company, or while on company property; accidents; and procedural violations.
  • Maintains programs related to Security to include:
    • Personnel protection.
    • Perimeter and facility protection.
    • Asset movement.
  • Maintains programs related to Safety to include:
    • Accident & injury prevention.
    • Hazard Communication.
    • Fire prevention and evacuation procedures.
    • Disaster preparedness.
  • Assists the LPM in maintaining and administering mechanical lock systems and electronic security measures such as CCTV, access control, and alarms.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One to three months related experience and/or training in a Criminal Justice Program.
  • Ability to read and write
  • Computer knowledge
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak.

    • Frequent:
      • SITTING - The ability to sit for extended periods of time while working with computers and monitoring video surveillance systems.
      • DATA ENTRY - Though the use of keyboards, mice and other data input devises.
      • VISUAL - Use of computer monitors for performing a wide variety of word-processing and data analysis, and monitoring of activity on video surveillance systems.
    • Occasional:
      • CLIMBING - Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
      • BALANCING - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces; or maintaining body equilibrium when performing feats of agility.
      • STANDING -For extended periods of time while guarding or monitoring key areas or assets.
      • STOOPING - Bending body downward and forward.
      • KNEELING - Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees.
      • CROUCHING - Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
      • CRAWLING - Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
      • REACHING - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
      • HANDLING - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
  • Strength - Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently.
  • Environmental Conditions and Physical Surroundings (Primarily within the distribution environment). Occasional:
    • Exposure to weather - Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather.
  • Exposure to non-weather-related cold temperatures.
  • Exposure to non-weather-related hot temperatures.
  • Atmospheric conditions - exposure to dust.
  • Equipment Used
    • Office equipment such as computer, printer, projector, video player/recorder. Hand tools (e.g., hammer, screwdriver, wrench).
    • Power tools (e.g., drill).
    • Ladders & elevated work platforms.
