DPS is responsible for statewide law enforcement services, training, and disaster and emergency response. NM DPS also provides technical communications and forensics support to the public and other law enforcement agencies. In order to help successfully perform these duties the General Services Bureau works to manages and maintain 48 facilities across 12 districts include both real properties and leased space spanning the state. How does it get done?- Serve as the agency's Loss Prevention and Control Coordinator, overseeing all loss prevention initiatives.- Collaborate with the Human Resources Bureau (HRB) to obtain and compile work-related injury and illness incident reports as required by OSHA.- Report all incidents and file necessary reports with OSHA in a timely manner to ensure compliance.- Maintain and post required records at all department offices throughout the state, ensuring accessibility and compliance with regulations.- Disseminate OSHA notices and news releases to all relevant stakeholders as applicable.- Develop and implement systemic loss prevention strategies to minimize risks and financial exposure.- Establish uniform loss prevention reporting procedures and communicate these policies effectively to all stakeholders.- Implement procedures for the investigation, analysis, and evaluation of incidents and losses.- Conduct safety audits at department facilities statewide to certify compliance, document instances of non-compliance, and recommend corrective actions.- Ensure that safety plans and evacuation maps are current, accessible, and prominently posted at all department facilities.- Verify compliance of private offices, workstations, conference rooms, and common areas with current fire codes, ADA standards, and ergonomic guidelines. Who are the customers?This position supports the Program Support Division, Statewide Law Enforcement Division, New Mexico State Police (NMSP), Office of the Secretary, Office of Legal Affairs, Administrative Services Division, Information Technology, Law Enforcement Academy, Forensic Laboratory, the Law Enforcement Records Bureau and the State of New Mexico. Ideal Candidate- Experience in conducting safety audits and compliance evaluations.- Familiarity with loss prevention technologies and reporting tools.- Ability to train and educate staff on loss prevention policies and best practices.- Experience with OSHA and compliance and reporting requirements. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Minimum QualificationBachelor's Degree and three (3) years program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Substitutions apply. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal (VDT), extensive computer and phone usage. Sitting, standing, bending, lifting and reaching overhead may be required. Some travel is required, must have State Defensive Driving Certificate or the ability to obtain. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
