Nature of Work
Under limited supervision, this position involves performing advanced technical support functions within the Lottery Information Technology Division.
Primary Network Support: Provides direct support for configuring, deploying, monitoring, and maintain network routers, switches, and wireless access points.
Oversight and Audit: Manages and audits third-party vendors responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.
Troubleshooting Network Issues: Responding to and resolving network-related incidents, such as connectivity issues, latency problems, and outages.
Secondary Support for Microsoft Servers: This position acts as a backup support resource for Microsoft servers, assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
Cloud Support for Microsoft Products: Offers secondary support for Microsoft cloud services, including Azure, Exchange online, and other Software as a Service (SaaS) products in the Microsoft ecosystem.
Security Management: Implementing and maintaining network security measures, including firewall configurations, VPN's, intrusion detection systems, and network access controls.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Managing network and server backup protocols, including data recovery testing and planning for network continuity.
Server Maintenance and Optimization: Performing routine server maintenance (e.g., patching, updates, optimization).
Documentation and Reporting: Documenting network configurations, changes, incidents, and resolution steps and generating reports on network health, performance, and security compliance.
Capacity Planning and Scalability: Monitoring and planning for future network and server capacity needs.
User Support and Issue Escalation: Providing technical support to users and escalating complex network/server issues to external vendors as needed.
Policy Compliance: Ensuring all network and server management activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices, especially regarding data security and privacy.
Software and Firmware Updates: Applying and testing software and firmware updates on network and server equipment to mitigate vulnerabilities and improve functionality.

Minimum Qualifications
Training:Associate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Microcomputer Technology, or related field.
OR
Substitution:Additional full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as described below may substitute for the required training at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) semester hours of training.
AND
Experience:Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience installing and supporting personal computers, microcomputers and/or LAN/WAN.
AND
Special Requirements:A valid driver's license is required. Background and credit investigation and security clearance required for employment.
