As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial, and residential properties. The technician ensures that fire alarm systems are fully functional, meet all relevant codes and standards, and provide reliable protection for occupants and property. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, and configure fire alarm systems and related components according to specifications and codes.
  • Perform routine testing and maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring they operate effectively and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in fire alarm systems, providing prompt and effective solutions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing to identify and rectify any deficiencies or code violations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system installations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Provide training and support to clients on the proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
  • Stay current with industry trends, fire codes, and new fire alarm technologies through ongoing education and training.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing job duties.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fire alarm systems or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal fire codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm system components and installation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
