Job Description:
Location: Bowling Green, KYShift: Full-Time, 1st, estimated 40 to 45 hours per week - Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required in support of project requirements from time-to-time We are seeking an experienced low voltage Foreman to join our growing team. The qualified candidate will have experience/familiarity with managing both large and small projects in commercial and government settings. Qualified applicants must have demonstrated experience in the planning, coordination and implementation of Audio Visual and Network Cabling related systems, and the ability to serve as a client interface throughout the duration of a project. This role will involve working closely with engineering, general contractors, installers and project management teams to review and validate contract Statements of Work (SOW), and implement solutions for A/V, Structured Cabling, or other technology equipment.Some projects or activities may require travel and overnight stays at customer sites. Travel is required and estimated at 25%.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Attending customer meetings/site surveys as required to gather and compile customer requirements for Sales and Engineering.
  • Supervising installation crews, leading and assisting A/V and data cabling (CAT 6, 6a and fiber optics) installation teams with installing, maintaining, operating, and upgrading A/V/IT equipment and VTC units
  • Performing preventive maintenance on A/V and VTC systems and related equipment (may include climbing ladders and use of lift devices; requires proficiency with normal working tools, must know how to solder and crimp connections)
  • Documenting customer requirements and filing in a central repository. This may include equipment lists or other spreadsheets.
  • Reviewing site survey documentation produced by sales reps along with needs assessment reports.
  • Assisting in creation and management of technician timelines and schedules. Attending and supporting daily and/or weekly internal/external project meetings.
  • Providing field and electronic (phone, email) support to Technicians during installation and testing of newly installed equipment. Ensures quality of work and ensures timelines and schedules are met.
  • May create Gant charts and project schedules as needed for the construction management teams.
  • Responds to technical support requests of facility stakeholders.
  • Working closely with clients and internal parties to translate project requirements into achievable deadlines, ensuring schedules and budgets stay on track. Projects will encompass: audio-visual services, information technology, cloud and related products.
  • Leading project team members, providing performance feedback and supporting overall project efforts, achievement of goals/objectives and defined SLAs.
  • Communicating frequently with clients to identify and resolve issues, in a timely, professional, and transparent manner.
  • Developing and communicating project plans, engineering and technician schedules, status reports, communication plans and other documents as required.
  • Provides client consulting and training on controls, interfaces and use of A/V and VTC equipment
  • Troubleshooting software for Extron, Crestron, AMX, Cisco, and Polycom A/V and VTC equipment
  • Provides field reporting updates to Strategic Project Managers as necessary
  • Provides life cycle refresh projects for VTC infrastructure and A/V equipment build out projects
Qualified candidates will possess the following skills and abilities:
  • Evidence of work history and proficiency in the MS Office Suite applications of Excel (data evaluation, formulas, analytics), Outlook, Word, Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds of VTC and A/V equipment without assistance.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in installation of Information Technology (IT), A/V and/or Structured Cabling systems, prior experience in Construction Management (new builds and renovations for commercial and government facilities)
  • Must have the ability to install, terminate and test low voltage cables; certification preferred (fiber experience a plus)
  • Shall have technical certifications (or equivalent in experience) and product expertise required to provide support services for video conferencing and A/V solutions (or be willing to obtain)
  • CRM (service/relationship management software) experience preferred
  • Knowledge of A/V systems strongly preferred: AMX-Harman, Bi-Amp, Cisco, Crestron, and Polycom (Poly) systems preferred
  • Avixa/InfoComm CTS or CTS-I strongly preferred (must be willing to obtain)
  • Experience working with multiple departments and managing multiple tasks concurrently
  • Knowledge of construction documentation and blueprint reading
  • Driver's license required, safe driving record, must be capable of passing a government background check and obtaining a security clearance if needed
  • ISO 9001:2015 training to be completed within first 90 days
