(without benefits)Travel Rate: $20hr on W2 + $1000(Weekly non taxable stipend) =Weekly Gross: $1720*Job Description:**Overview:*The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a corrections setting provides compassionate, patient-centered care to incarcerated individuals. This role involves assisting in the delivery of medical care, administering medications, and monitoring the health and well-being of patients while adhering to facility protocols and ensuring safety.*Key Responsibilities:** *Patient Care:** Provide direct nursing care to inmates, including monitoring vital signs, wound care, and administering treatments.* Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or basic life support as needed.* *Medication Administration:** Dispense and administer prescribed medications following established procedures.* Monitor and document patients' responses to medications and report adverse reactions.* *Health Assessments:** Conduct intake screenings for newly admitted inmates, including health histories and physical assessments.* Monitor ongoing health conditions and report changes to the healthcare provider.* *Documentation:** Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and facility requirements.* Document all care provided, including observations, interventions, and patient progress.* *Infection Control and Safety:** Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases within the facility.* Maintain a secure environment by following correctional facility policies and procedures.* *Collaboration:** Work closely with the healthcare team, including RNs, physicians, and mental health professionals, to ensure continuity of care.* Communicate effectively with correctional officers to coordinate care and manage safety concerns.*Qualifications:** *Education and Licensure:** Current and unrestricted LPN license in the state of practice.* Graduation from an accredited nursing program.* *Experience:** Previous experience in corrections, acute care, or emergency settings is preferred but not required.* *Skills:** Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations.* Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and documentation processes.* *Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.* Additional certifications such as CPR or first aid may be required.*Work Environment:** Works in a secure correctional facility environment.* Requires constant awareness of security protocols and safety procedures.* May involve exposure to high-stress situations and infectious diseases.*About the Organization:*(Add details about the correctional healthcare facility, emphasizing its mission to provide quality care within a secure environment.)Job Type: ContractPhysical Setting:* CorrectionsAbility to Relocate:* Georgia: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
