Licensed Practical Nurses needed for Daytime Monday-Friday. Caswood is recruiting LPNS for 13 week contract positions with the potential to be extended.Position Requirements:
- LPN Full Time, M-F 5x8's, 8am - 4:30pm
- NY LPN Licensure, BLS
- 1 year experience as LPN
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient group.Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissues.Under the direction of the Practice Supervisor Derm, and in accordance with approved policies and procedures, provides quality care in an effort to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes. LPN will maintain patient confidentiality. LPN will maintain an appropriate level of knowledge and clinical expertise through continuing education, inservice programs, departmental competencies and self-development activities.
- With assistance from Registered Nurse when necessary, responsible for facilitation of patient flow from registration through and including discharge/referral. Performs general nursing assessments and documents appropriately.
- Evaluates patient knowledge and understanding of health status/care needs. Educates accordingly
- Responds to patient phone calls. Communicates information to primary care providers. Actively reviews and requests prescription drug refill requests with treating provider, as necessary.
- Demonstrates competency in sterile technique, specimen collection and other required testing. Assists MD with office procedures.
- Recognizes emergency situations and responds in accordance with established protocols.
