Full Time Position-Evening Shift (3p-1130P)- Abilityto monitor resident condition and notify RN Supervisor, charge nurse, and/orphysician promptly of changes in resident conditions. Notifies sponsor/next ofkin according to facility protocol.
- Knowledgeof the intended use and negative reactions of medications ordered forresidents.
- Awareof emergency procedures of this facility in the event of cardiac arrest,diabetic reactions, airway obstruction, respiratory arrest/distress, seizures,head injuries, and fractures.
- Respondpromptly to all emergencies.
- Respondpromptly and investigate all alarms on unit.
- Followinstructions given by the RN for resident care.
- Abilityto document medications, procedures, and resident condition per facilityprotocol.
- Abilityto receive verbal and phone orders from physicians/nurse practitioner andtranscribe accordingly.
- Communicatethe needs of resident to other departments when necessary.
- Assistresidents with activities of daily living when needed, including personal care,transfer, eating, and elimination.
- Competentin checking vital signs and documentation/reporting.
- Makerounds on assigned unit per facility protocol.
- Investigateall accidents and complete required forms/documentation.
- Report all discrepancies found with a medication, treatment plan, and physicianorders.
- Requisitionmedications and supplies to ensure adequate supply.
- Communicate policy and safety concerns to RN or Administration for Quality Assurance purposes.
- Supervise care given by nursing assistants.
