We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced full-time LPN for Adult Medicine Specialties. In this role, as Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN), you will deliver high-quality individualized patient-centered care. In collaboration with the medical team comprised of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and medical residents, the LPN provides care consistent with the scope and standards of the specialty.

What will you do in this role?

  • Provide direct, evidence-based patient care as directed by the physician or RN
  • Assist with a variety of procedures, exams, monitoring, or other functions as directed
  • Perform lab and procedure tests within the LPN scope of practice, after demonstrating competency
  • Document the administration of care in the patient's medical record (EMR) in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Serve as a resource to the department staff, medical residents, and volunteers to help deliver quality patient care.
  • Participates in department performance improvement activities
  • Adaptable to change, able to problem solve issues and seeks assistance
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility

Qualifications:

  • Current NYS LPN Licensure (Graduate of accredited LPN nursing program)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience/competency with EMR documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal & English communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Minimum 2-3 years of LPN experience in an ambulatory health clinic (peds exp a plus)
  • Medication and vaccine administration adult patients
  • Clinical skills: phlebotomy, EKG, POCT, etc. on adult patients; Specimen collection
  • Screen (walk-in/phone & scheduled appointments) patients and make appropriate referrals for services required
  • Administer treatments (i.e. dressing changes, nebulizer treatments, oxygen etc.)
  • Documentation of all patient care, treatments, and patient education
