Job Description:

Position Summary: Responsible for proper handling of Home Health medical supplies and equipment including ordering, stocking, receiving, inventory control, logistics, shipping to patient homes, or Home Health Branches, and clinicians delivery of supplies and equipment. Responsibilities include maintenance of supply at all branches of the agency. Processes purchase orders, including verifying pricing, insurance requirements, ordering, and receiving supplies. This position performs as the Division Fire Safety Officer, and provides support and back up for incoming calls and assists in reception area when administrative assistant is unavailable. The position is required to have a working knowledge of wound care and supplies needed for the patient to reach optimum level of health. Serves as a resource for clinicians in selection of formulary versus non formulary supplies. Acts as resource for clinicians needing help with choosing the correct supply for patients. The position also requires a knowledge base of ostomies and how to ensure the patient has the correct supplies and how to get home delivery of supplies when the patient is discharged.

Schedule:

This position has the opportunity to work Hybrid 1-2 days a week. Monday - Friday with on-call weekends and on occasion after normal business hours.

Job Responsibilities:

* Maintain Fire Hazard, OSHA, and Safety regulations for Home Health Corporate Office as well as the additional eight Home Health Branch Offices

* Preforms annually fire drills for Corporate Home Health Office, and coordinates the annual fire drills for the other eight branches

* Promotes a positive image of Brooks Rehabilitation Home Health to outside agencies and the public.

* Able to prioritize workload in a meaningful manner and remain organized

* Liaisons between supply vendor and agency

* Actively works with clinicians to educate on wound care supplies and appropriate dressing for the home health patient

* Validates all wound care supplies are ordered by a physician.

* Works with vendors for non-medicare patients to ensure appropriate delivery of needed supplies

* Participates in performance improvement activities as needed.

* Exhibits excellent service to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.

* Communicates in a professional and courteous manner

* Handles multiple assignments with accuracy and in a timely manner

* Maintains up-to-date tracking of all loaned equipment and devices ensuring equipment is returned in good condition; notifies Director of Nursing or Regional Administrator if equipment is lost, stolen, or returned in poor condition.

* Responsible for ordering, receiving, and dispensing of supplies for patient and staff use, maintaining divisional budget

* Ensures all other purchase orders and invoices are processed timely with Accounts Payable and in accordance with established processes and procedures.

* Responsible for proper storage of medical supplies and rotation of all goods (First In/First Out (FIFO)), including pulling damaged goods, removal of obsolete supplies as indicated, and informing the Manager as necessary.

* Ensures the accurate management and control of the Home Health supply inventory control systems.

* Accurately records all filled supply requests in MedLine, Home Care Home Base, Oracle, and Meditech.

* Orients new clinical staff to supply procedures and ensures that car stock inventories for new field staff readily available.

* Ensures that lab supplies, accompanying paperwork and required forms are always available and current.

* Liaisons with lab to ensure appropriate utilization of tubes and correct lab forms

* Ensures the organization and cleanliness of the supply area is maintained in survey ready status at all times.

* Ensures that supplies of clinical paperwork packets are available at all times.

* Communicates directly to the printing vendor to replenish paper supplies.

* Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency; recognizes and establishes priorities.

* Demonstrates appropriate judgment, requesting assistance as needed.

* Is highly accountable for quality, quantity and timeliness of work

* Maintains a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times ensuring that behavior is consistent with organizational values and policies.

* Works cooperatively with all staff & departments in support of agency needs and goals.

* Demonstrates knowledge of home health regulations and standards.

* Provides back up assistance to the Administrative Assistant and receptionist as needed

* Accepts other duties as assigned willingly and pleasantly.

Job Qualifications:

* LPN with wound care experience

* Maybe able to work from home 1 to 2 days per week

* Central supply/materials management preferred

* Ability to accept responsibility and direction

* One year of home health experience required

* General knowledge of medical terminology, supply management, central supply,

* High proficiency with computer skills, EHRs and inventory logistic and management

* This is a Monday-Friday position with on-call weekends and occasionally after normal business hours
