This position is responsible for providing direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting. In this position, you will be expected to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing education to patients and their families. As a Med/Surg Nurse, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care possible.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assessing and monitoring patients' conditions and vital signs
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Assisting doctors with procedures and surgeries
- Documenting patients' medical histories and progress
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Managing and organizing patient care
- Performing routine procedures, such as dressing changes and catheterizations
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Active LPN license
- Proven experience as a med/surg nurse
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work different shifts and weekends
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
- Certification in med surg nursing
- Continuing education in nursing
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Experience with patient assessment and care planning
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must be able to pass a background check and complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
