Purpose of the Position:
Manage and lead staff in Memory Care Unit of Assisted Living Home in accordance with resident needs, government relations and the policies
Basic Functions:
To maintain an excellent service of quality, high census occupancy and meet financial goals withinestablished budgetary guideline. Understand, supervise, implement and follow safety and infection control procedures.
Primary Functions:
* Supervision over residents regarding their activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, positioning, transfer, mobility and incontinence care.
* Supervise over the residents' meals and snacks
* Be able to Communicate with residents and resident families in a polite and professional manner
* Keep accurate records of care provided in sigma care system
* Prepare, assist and document the administration of medication, following accepted practices, and in accordance with State regulations
* Obtain and maintain proper certification for licensure annually
* Attend staff and in-service meetings
* Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding resident's rights
* Monitor daily to ensure accuracy of medication administration, insure no omissions, proper documentation of medications and other aspects into the care of the residents.
* Provide over site of infection control regulations and training of staff on infection control
* Conduct routine med cart audits to ensure that all medications are in the building as prescribed
* Routine monitoring of daily med passes to ensure that the Med Techs are following facility policies and state rules and regulations
* Review all new physician orders, changed physician orders, and discontinued physician orders on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of the transcription of the order onto the computer system
* Assist with Resident Care plan upon admission, and annually as well as needed to address significant changes
* Complete resident assessment paperwork upon admission, every 90 days if LHPS tasks are required, and as needed
* Ensure that correct labs are drawn and follow-up is complete as needed
* Ensure health care and follow-up for all residents
* Obtain a good working knowledge of the state rules and regulations, health care regulations and OSHA regulations
Minimum Requirements:
* Must have experience as a nurse supervisor, NC LPN license preferred
* Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, State officials (bonafide inspectors) and general public
* Must be able to work full time, with available 24/7 phone hours, 7 days a week per rotating schedule
* Must meet all State health requirements
* Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with, and or without reasonable accommodations
