Six core values are embedded within these commitments – student-centered, whole child, equity, academic excellence, community partnership, and continuous learning.The Department of Principal Quality (DPQ) is charged with identifying, developing, supporting, and retaining strong principal leaders who are committed to actualizing that vision.Job SummaryReporting to the Director of LSC Principal Supports, the LSC Principal Supports Coordinator will focus primarily on the coordination of logistics and management of resources, systems, and processes for Local School Councils (LSCs) and Principals, specifically for the procedures of principal selection/recommendation, evaluation, and contract renewal. The LSC Principal Supports Coordinator will take the initiative to develop and maintain the efficient operations of DPQ systems.The LSC Principal Supports Coordinator will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:Support logistics management for the planning and implementation of trainings for LSC members and Principals related to principal selection, evaluation, and contract renewal.Manage the progress of training completion and effectiveness for LSC members and principals, related to principal selection/recommendation, evaluation, and contract renewal.Oversee the progress of training completion and effectiveness for LSC members and principals related to principal selection/recommendation, evaluation, and contract renewal.Build and maintain strong relationships with school community members, stakeholders and organizations to promote advocacy, engagement, and ownership of LSC processes.Perform outreach, encourage and engage community members and other stakeholders to attend meetings, and participate in feedback sessions.Actively build relationships and establish ongoing communication with principals to support positive LSC-Principal relations.Collaborate with other stakeholders within CPS teams and departments to ensure alignment of actions and communication.Develop and monitor tracking systems with multiple indicators and data points specific to LSC Principal Supports; Utilize internal and external data management programs.Create regular and ad hoc reports on data points specific to LSC Principal Supports.Participate in planning meetings and initiate follow-up efforts.Organize, analyze, and report on school and community-level data as established by DPQ Leadership's metrics and goals.Assist in management of funds, including ordering and tracking materials and supplies.Perform other related duties as assigned.Other Requirements:Ability to travel within the City of Chicago to schools and PD sessions.Ability to work some early or late hours during professional learning sessions and/or the CPS Principal Eligibility assessment.In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the LSC Principal Supports Coordinator must possess the following qualifications:Education Required:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.Experience Required:Three (3) years of professional experience organizing and facilitating meetings, both in-person and virtual.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage several work streams simultaneously.Exceptional communication skills (Verbal, Non-verbal, Visual, Written, Listening); Empathetic and able to infer meaning and read people.Strong strategic thinker, able to weigh competing priorities quickly to determine the appropriate path to success.Self-starter who takes initiative to determine the best way towards task and project completion.Outcome-focused, skilled at using data to draw inferences and meaning to make recommendations and/or decisions.Comfort with ambiguity and establishing a direction on one's own, with frequent support but minimal direct supervision.Comfort collaborating and communicating across a diverse range of audiences, including LSCs, network leaders, school leaders, and community members.Commitment to CPS leadership's vision for success, including support and respect of colleagues and the communities CPS serves.Proficiency with Google Calendar and other G-Suite tools (Docs, Forms, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.).Conditions of EmploymentAs a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency: Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district.
